Wonderful piece! Should you find yourself casting about for a theme to write on sometime... I think this one, which comes off as a reflection from someone very much in the know, would love to be accompanied by a piece that reveals some of the successes Mr. Alki experienced during his journey... prestigious gigs you were hired for (ironic, sardonic reflections in counterpoint might find a good home in this)... I know I'd like to read such a thing. Cheers!
